Where have you been?

Okay.  As you can see, I have let my blog go.

BUT it is only because I have been very busy in the past few months.

What have I been doing?

Well.... lets start with school.

I had 101 things going on with my program....field trips, county festival, state festival, concerts....it was exhausting but wonderful.  The highlight of the end of year was our annual band trip.  I took my kiddos to New York City with my good buddy and colleague Tom Liddle.  We had a fabulous trip.  The students had the opportunity to perform at Riverside Church on the upper west side.  We had beautiful weather, exciting sight seeing, amazing performances and a teenage dream in Times Square.  Yes, those little middle school hearts were palpitating for Mr. Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe.  We saw him in the show" How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying".

It was like the Beatles came to town.  Screaming.  Shaking.  Fainting...well, almost fainting :)

Then, there was a little show called "Chicago".  It consumed my life for three months, but it was a great experience.  I learned to dance in the Fosse style, which was quite fun.  A big departure from the land of teaching band, where balding heads and thick mustaches are the norm.  Its probably the only time I will ever be able to wear fishnets!  Here is a small sampling of what the show entailed:

Yes, I got quite comfortable in this get up

So now that these wonderful things have passed...I hope to pick up my camera again.  Here is to happy blogging in the sweet summer time.
